Marine Products Top 5 Wakesurf Boards for 2016

April 26, 2016

Marine Products Pro Shop has been in business since 1971 as the original water sport pro shop located in Salt Lake City, Utah.  MP has made the transition to online, taking their huge showroom and putting it all online right at your finger tips, meaning anyone anywhere in the country gets FREE shipping on orders over $99!  After recently being named Supra Boats "Dealer of The Year" for 2015, MP shows that it's not all about the products, but also the level of customer service you receive.  We were curious what wakesurfer's were buying from their inventory, so we reached out.  It's exciting to see all the different styles of boards that people are buying.

1. Byerly Action Wakesurfer

The Buzz was created to bridge the gap between skim and surf style boards giving you the best of both worlds. The shape was crafted by Butch to be the fastest, most maneuverable board in the Byerly surf line-up. With its added thickness, full outline, and pulled in tail, it flies across the water yet turns on a dime. The domed deck and tucked-under surfboard style rails hold an amazing edge, while the extreme double concave that runs out of the tail makes it super responsive in the pocket. With three removable fin options you can customize the ride from loose and floaty to maximum drive and response.

Available in 4'5" at  Marine-Products.com

2. Ronix Honey Comb Powertail

New for this year, we took our best selling shape and added more feel and communication-Honeycomb. The Powertail shape combines the ctable aspects of a Longboard, the bottom turn drive of a thruster, and the ability to air out like no other board you have ever ridden. There has never been a board with this much surface area in the tail for bigger airs off the top deck, but still has a quick rail to rail slayshyness (not really sure what that means) to it. Surfers looking for a stable shape that has the speed needed even with smaller boat wakes, and a must in the quiver for high en riders. Another reason to chase the endless summer.

Available in 4'5" & 4'10" at Marine-Products.com

3. Liquid Force Machine

Race down the line with all day on this MACHINE! With a double wing squaretail shape, THE MACHINE is able to project and pivot on a dime giving you one very playful surfer. 3 sets of fins are included to give you maximum versatility and performance. Ride it as a quad for solid drive and thrust out of the wake, as a tri-fin for tight and positive control, or as a twin fin for that loose, easy going feel.

Available in 4'6", 4'10", 5'2" at Marine-Products.com

4. Slingshot Gnarwhal

The Gnarwhal is an entirely new breed of wakesurf board from Slingshot, designed for aggressive surf style riders looking to cut deep into the pocket and attack the lip with explosive airs and surf-style maneuvers. Decked out with new FCS II fin technology, customizing your fin configuration with either a twin or quad fin arrangement is quick and easy and doesn’t require a tool.
The Gnarwhal’s wide tail and nose give the board more volume at a shorter length, allowing it to fit into the pocket comfortably and catch air with ease. The base of the Gnarwhal comes fully equipped with a V-spine and double concave hull, which helps the board transition from rail to rail while the exaggerated concave rail throughout the length of the board gives surfers more grip as they press into face of the wave. The accelerated rocker line on the Gnarwhal allows surfers to get farther back from the boat and surf at faster speeds to attack the lip with more energy.

Available in 4'6" & 4'10" at Marine-Products.com

5.  Wakewood Grenade

The Grenade designed to be a true hybrid. It is intended to be used either as a twin fin for a surf style ride, or switch it up to a single fin for more of a skim style experience. Beginner or intermediate riders may benefit from a little added speed and stability with all 3 fins in place and then drop fins as they progress their skills. The grenade is based off of our Beave rocker platform with a fatter tail to enhance surf style airs and a slightly more stable tracking skim style performance.

Available in 4'3" & 4'6" at Marine-Products.com
