The second annual Southern Surfest was held again in May on Lake Lanier, Georgia, which is about an hour north of Atlanta.  The event is designed to be an un-bias wake surf boat and board demo weekend, where wake surfers can try nearly every brand of wake surfboard behind nearly every brand of wake surf boat.

Recap

The Southern Surfest is quickly growing to become one of the most popular events in wake surfing, and for obvious reasons.  There is nowhere else in the world a wake surfer can ride so many boats and so many boards in one place.   Beyond presenting the opportunity to surf every board and every boat, several professional wake surfers are on hand to offer coaching throughout the event, and there were private coaching sessions available on Friday with professional wake surfers Sean Cummings and Trevor Miller.

If you are interested in attending SSF next year, keep an eye on their facebook page for event registration information for next year.
